Symbolism & Meaning

The World is the last card in the Major Arcana and the end of The Fool’s journey. The figure on The World card holds a wand in each hand representing mastery and authority over your own path. The wreath is symbolic of Aquarius (air), Leo (fire), Taurus (earth), and Scorpio (water). These signs all had a part to play in the hard work that was needed to complete this journey.

How The World is Relevant to Me

This card has given me a lot to think about today. Late yesterday afternoon our solicitor emailed. The driver’s insurance company have made an early offer to settle the case. It is a lot of money and has thrown me a bit. I know that no amount of money can compensate for the pain and injuries I have sustained. It is ongoing and I have no idea how long it will take to make a full recovery. Having said that, in our hearts and minds we had a figure in mind that we thought it would be great to have and would give us enough to achieve what we want to do longer term. The amount offered is more than that.

So, what do we do now? We have until 24th July to accept the offer. Should we accept, this will be final and cannot be reopened later down the line. The World card indicates that I should celebrate my wins and acknowledge how far I have come. I should feel empowered to take the steps required to leap into the next part of our journey.

In some ways this feels like a difficult decision and in other ways it feels like the opposite. No amount of money will change what has happened. Also, and for me, most importantly, the psychological aspect is quite significant. This will mean that I will no longer have the nagging doubts around liability and whether they may find it was my fault and give me nothing! Psychologically I can move on to the next stage in my recovery.

Physically, nothing changes. However, it does mean that I can resign from my job and fully focus on recovery. Also, the money is enough to buy a narrowboat. This alone will incentivise me to fully throw myself into getting as much physical ability back as possible.

Aargh! This feels like such an important decision but thank you Tarot for giving me the perfect card to help me process this from a good place.
