About

Meet Sarah

My name is Sarah and I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my page.

I live in Chelmsford, Essex with my husband Steve and two teenage children.

My blog and page started as a way for me to journal and come to terms with my feelings following an accident.

Tarot was fundamental in helping me to process my emotions and ultimately, decide how I want to live my future life.

My Journey

It has taken a long time for me to realise that I have always meant to be living an “alternative lifestyle”.  It has always been there in the background but somehow seemed out of reach.

Once we had children and decided to home educate, this only fueled my desire and I found myself day dreaming about the possibilities of world schooling in a van and escaping “conventional life”.

Life however rolls on, and with the children now at college age, we are stuck paying rent and working until they are happily settled and moved on (hopefully!)

Then on February 10, 2026 something happened…

The repercussions of this led me down a rabbit hole and made me more determined than ever to build the life I want to live.

I got off my bus as usual on my way home from work. The last thing I remember is being on the zebra crossing. The next few days that passed,  my memory is very hazy. I do however, remember the pain!

I found out, once I was lucid that I had a fractured pelvis, broken ankle, fractured clavicle, broken ring finger and cut to the head.  Basically, a car had hit me, thrown me up into the air, driven with me on his bonnet for 60 feet then stopped, at which point I landed in the road where I rolled another 60 feet.  I was lucky to be alive.

Two surgeries later and after nearly 3 weeks in hospital, I was finally allowed home.

I still have no memory of the accident but suddenly felt myself feeling so confused.  Every time I talked with my psychologist about returning to my normal life of work, home, work, home etc etc, I couldn’t stop myself from crying.

I knew that journalling would help me but for whatever reason, I couldn’t find a way to get my thoughts onto paper in any coherent way.

That’s where Tarot came in

Over the years I have always dabbled with tarot and pulled out my cards when I have felt like I needed some extra guidance or felt conflicted about something going on in my day to day life.

One day, a good few weeks into my recovery, I pulled a card. It was the Ten of Wands

The Ten of Wands, in it’s simplest description sybolises feeling overwhelmed and burnt out.  I sat with this card for a while and really thought about it.  I knew that I wasn’t professionally burnt out as I had recently started a new job and was really enjoying it.  The reasons for taking this job though, that was a different thing altogether.

This job was my first full time job in over 17 years, basically since having children. We decided that we would pay off any debts then start saving for a deposit for a flat.

This plan required savings.  That was the sole reason for me taking on full time work, to make this happen.

Apparently, in hospital, my husband says that he couldn’t get any sense out of me but I just kept babbling about how this was going to “ruin our plan”

I realised that subconsciously I was putting immense pressure on myself.  I also came to realise that buying a flat wasn’t ultimately going to make me happy.

I pulled out my journal and all of my anxieties, worries and concerns for my future came pouring out.

For the first time in months, I felt a true connection to my inner self and everything made sense.

From this day, I made a commitment to pull one card from my deck and ask myself a simple question…

What do I need to know today?

My blog is basically a journal of every single one of these readings.  Our new “plan” will become clear throughout my daily readings. They are totally personal to me but if anything resonates with you, the reader, I hope it helps you too.

Lots of love

Sarah
