How The Two of Cups is Relevant to Me
I don’t really talk about my relationship much on here. Honestly though, I think that is because this journal has so far been a Major Arcana and Pentacles show!
I think it is fair to say though that Steve and I are 100% a solid unit. We have been through a lot and we are still here, together, battling through the chaos of our life.
We did chat about this the other evening. With me doing a deeper dive into tarot and looking inwards overall, I wanted to check in with him to make sure he was ok. Sometimes, in relationships, it is easy to think about whether your partner is doing enough for you but, do we consider whether we are doing enough for them? I don’t just mean in a household chore type of way, I mean in an emotional connection way. Steve isn’t one for showing his emotions at all so it can be a challenge encouraging him to open up. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel things. He does. Deeply.
At the end of the day, my accident has also had a huge impact on him. For a start, I may not remember the events of that evening but he was there, in the thick of it, watching me basically being held together with a strap around my pelvis surrounded by police and ambulances. At that point, in his words, “I thought I had lost you”.
That’s pretty deep. Our connection IS deep but we don’t always see it. Day to day, work, chores, teenagers, recovery; it all takes its toll and it is easy to forget about each other.
We can do better, and we will. We are soulmates.
