The Seven of Swords

Upright Keywords: Acting Strategically, deception

Symbolism & Meaning

Cheeky fecker stealing all those swords! He knows that the figure in the window behind is on to him and it’s only a matter of time until he is caught. He has dropped two though, an indication that it is possible to salvage the situation. This card usually shows up if there is some kind of trickery or deception going on or maybe you aren’t being truly honest with yourself. It could mean that you are keeping parts of your life secret. It is ok to be more open and you may be surprised at what this leads to. If it’s not you then be vigilant. There may be hidden agendas at play so trust your instincts.

How The Seven of Swords is Relevant to Me

This card threw me a bit when it came up. I went off to get my sourdough bread started and to process the meanings behind it. It’s really difficult sometimes when the card doesn’t immediately connect with what is going on in your life. Or at least, you don’t think it does. One of the reasons why I love tarot is because it has really helped me to dig deep and look at the bigger picture.

As I type this, I still haven’t plucked up the courage to make my website accessible to the world. I have never been a particularly open person and I am struggling with the idea of letting people read my innermost thoughts and feelings. I also know that if I want to do this, I can only do it with an open heart and mind. My all or nothing approach to life must also transfer into my tarot business. I will be inviting people to trust me with their questions and soul searching. The least I can do is aim to be as transparent as possible and show how this process can lead to personal growth.

This week involves a great deal of planning and preparing to launch my silver business on Etsy. If I am completely honest, I am starting to procrastinate and the self doubt is creeping in. This is the point where in the past I would drop tools, give up, apply for a different job and move on. I don’t have that option and it feels bloody scary!

I need to spend some time on my own, light some incense and find the confidence to take a leap.
