The Magician

Upright Keywords: Manifestation, creator, inspired action

Symbolism & Meaning

This is the first person The Fool meets once he has taken the risk and leapt into the unknown. The Magician stands assertively, holding a wand in one hand pointing towards the sky, the other hand pointing towards the ground. The infinity symbol suggests that The Fool has infinite possibilities available to him. The items on the table represent the four elemental suits: a wand (fire), a pentacle (earth), a sword (air) and a cup (water). This shows us that we all have the tools within us to create our own destiny.

How The Magician is Relevant to Me

I really needed a lovely positive card to come up today. Before I even got out of bed I replied to an email to my solicitor accepting the insurers offer. I think I mentioned this a couple of days ago but there has been a bit of back and forth, mainly about whether it is too early to accept an offer given the unknowns of my recovery.

Ultimately, I decided to just let destiny unfold in the way it is meant to, hence the relief that this card has come up this morning.

My main intention is to recover, as fully as possible. If I said no, I think subconsciously, I would be too scared to improve. That is backward and unhealthy however, honesty is important to me in this journal and I definitely think I would do this. Ultimately, I would rather never know if it could have been more than be too scared every improvement potentially means getting less.

I have said yes so now I have to throw everything I can into my rehabilitation. Yesterday I tried to get down onto my exercise mat. I had to do it from a seated position and it was very awkward/painful. I did it though so I need to keep on doing it.

I will focus on Pilates and exercises specifically designed to help the sciatic nerve. I need to have faith that I can manifest a good prognosis and ensure my recovery goes in an upward trajectory.

I can do this, I just need to stay focused on the positive. I am off now to see if getting on my mat today is any easier than yesterday. I have faith it will be.
