The Hanged Man is suspended by one leg from the tree of life. His hands appear to be tied behind his back. His leg is crossed behind the bound leg but his demeanour is relaxed. The yellow light behind his head is a symbol of enlightenment and of what can occur when you truly let yourself rest. Now is the time to surrender, do not struggle. The Hanged Man is associated with a period of time that is meant to help shift your perspective of a situation.
How the Hanged Man is relevant to Me
At the moment I feel like I am unable to move forward. My health dictates my actions, my mood and how much or how little I feel I can achieve each day.
The reason I started this journal was because I wanted to create something that not only gave me an outlet but gave me an opportunity to dig deeper and explore the bigger picture.
Although the circumstances surrounding how I ended up here are unfortunate, I do have an opportunity to take some time, reflect and figure out what my life will look like moving forward.
Yesterday was an unusually emotional day and I found myself randomly bursting into tears. In hospital I sobbed daily from the pain and frustration, but since being home, these days have become further apart.
This morning, I laid in bed awake for a while pondering on what that meant. Feeling sorry for myself is ok. I am entitled to it and to be honest, I still can’t believe that this has happened to me. I am pissed off.
There is a lot to be learned from The Hanged Man. He is telling me to chill out, allow myself to relax and something positive will come.
