How The Empress is Relevant to Me
I am typing this in the car on our way to the marina to complete the transfer of ownership on Message in a Bottle. It will be a busy afternoon unloading the car and making her comfortable, but then we can spend the evening and overnight immersed in nature.
It’s a strange feeling and as much as I have always been an “all or nothing” kind of person, I do still question my sanity. I know that when I sit on the deck this evening, surrounded by water, I will have absolutely no regrets. I cannot wait for the peace and quiet, the stars and the unfamiliar noises from the abundant wildlife that live around the marina. I already have a supply of swan and duck food ready to deliver to the residents tomorrow morning.
Unfortunately, we wont have time to take her for a cruise this weekend but it wont be long until we are back up for an overnight stay. For now, I am just grateful for this opportunity that brings me closer to the simple life that I crave. The connection to nature that people describe when on the canals is something that I cannot wait to experience.
The Empress knows how powerful this connection is and I need that energy in my life.
