The Knight of Swords

Symbolism & Meaning

The Knight of Swords is shown charging forward fighting against the wind. You can sense the speed and urgency in the imagery. He is ready to confront whatever faces him and has no intention of slowing down.

My meeting with my case manager provided a few home truths. I honestly thought that as soon as I was cleared to weight bear and start walking, it would be so much easier than the reality.

I have been in denial about my recovery and haven’t been handling it the way I want to deep down. I feel like the right thing to do is get to a place where I can return to work in any capacity. The reality is though, my rehabilitation needs to be the focus, not my job.

After the case manager had left, Steve and I discussed how we need to handle things moving forward. Basically, my recovery needs to be the priority.

Before the accident I was a very active person. I loved cycling to work, I exercised regularly and absolutely loved walking and hiking. I am not the all inclusive, sit by the pool on holiday kind of person.

My ideal holiday is camping, hiking, building an open fire and cooking over the flames.

How the Knight of Swords is relevant to me

I have hand therapy today. This is the start of me being assertive and taking control of my situation.

I need to have tunnel vision and throw myself into my recovery. I am so far away from the person described above but if I put 100% of my efforts in, I will achieve my goal.

I need to face this head on with all of the energy that is available to me.
