Symbolism & Meaning

Although this card is a repeat from a few days ago, we can see that the imagery in The Everyday Witch deck is very different to the This Might Hurt deck. In this card, we can see that The King of Wands has his map at the ready and he knows exactly what he wants to achieve. Even the cat looks like he is ready to get on board and follow suit! This king may represent a male figure in your life who has influence over you. Whether this is good influence or bad influence, only you know. Is there someone controlling your life or making decisions on your behalf? If there is a situation in your life where you need to take charge, this card is your sign to do it now.

How The King of Wands is Relevant to Me

The only male figure in my life who has any influence at all over me is Steve. I certainly wouldn’t say that he has control over me, if anything, I have worn him down over the years and now he is finally seeing my perspective on how to live life, hence buying a boat and planning to move onto it! The only thing he has had more influence on though is where in the country we live. Admittedly, much of that has been driven by work but once we left Cornwall with the kids, we gravitated towards the South East. There are many things to love about the South East or East of England but for me, Essex is the least favourite place we have lived. Ultimtely, I will never be happy here and will be encouraging the kids to move away too. 2029/2030 is my target.

I am well aware that Steve always needs to have access to this part of the counrty. Much of what he does with In the Abyss will require travel to Chelmsford and London. That is fine but for me, I just don’t want or need it to be happy.

Somehow we will have to try to find a location on the canals that keeps us both happy.
