Symbolism & Meaning
In the world of Tarot, the Moon card often stirs a sense of mystery and intuition. It’s a card that embodies our dreams and the subconscious. When drawn, it suggests a time for introspection and self-discovery.
The Moon tarot card is rich in symbolism. It depicts a moonlit pathway leading through a rocky landscape, flanked by two towers. The moon itself represents illusion and the unknown, urging us to look beyond the surface of our experiences. The dog and the wolf in the imagery symbolize our primal instincts and the challenges we face between our conscious and unconscious selves.
How The Moon is Relevant to Me
I sat for quite some time before choosing my card this morning. Today I am having a visit from my case manager. She works for an independent body and will be compiling a report for the insurance company. Off the back of this report I will hopefully receive some rehabilitation privately to support me recovery.
The whole process will take over 2 hours and she has warned me that it can be very tough emotionally. My bus journey into town yesterday was much harder than I anticipated, emotionally at least.
The Moon illuminates what has previously been hidden, forcing it into the light.
Today I believe it is telling me to examine self deception, fear and shame by working on my shadow self. This will not be comfortable at times but it is necessary in order to accept the parts of myself that need to heal.
By talking through everything today I am hopeful that it will force me to examine the darker side of my recovery. It would be very easy for me to ignore the emotional side of what has happened and purely focus on the physical. After all, that is all most people see on the surface. Will this serve me though? What is to be gained from hiding away and refusing to face my fears?
The Moon shows me that even in dark there is light. And with light there is nothing to fear
